Science Week

As i'm sure you are aware, last week was science week. We had an amazing assembly in the morning where we learnt lots about science and forces. Then, in the afternoon we all got the opportunity to make our very own rocket and have a go at releasing it into the sky. Take a look at the fun we had.

Book Week

We have had a really great book week and wanted to share some picture with you. To start, we walked over to Foyles Book Shop and purchased our free World Book Day book with our vouchers. Then, on Thursday we got chance to dress up as our favourite book character. Take a look below…..

Next week, beginning the 3rd of March we will be celebrating World Book Week. Please encourage your child to read at home even more than they would normally. We will also be visiting our local book shop on Tuesday the 4th. If you are able to come along an join us, please sign up on the class door. 

Sadly we have now finished our swimming sessions but all children made great progress and had lots of fun progressing their swimming skills. However, we still want to keep on improving our fitness levels, leading a healthy style and our school sports coach Mr Roberts is going to support us to do this. Your child needs their PE Kit (t-shirt, jogging bottoms or shorts and a pair of trainers or daps) in school every Tuesday and Friday for this term. Mr Roberts will be working with us every Tuesday afternoon to help us improve our sports skills.

This Friday the 24th of January we will be having a maths week sale in the school hall. It will start at 3:15 so collect your children and head on in. Please come and support Year 3 by buying our decorated cakes and biscuits, helping us to win by being the class with the most profit. We look forward to seeing you there.

Term 3 - Swimming

A reminder to all parents that this term year 3 will be swimming. Your child will need their swimming kit (Costume/trunks, towel) in school every Tuesday. If you are helping us walk swimming, please wait outside the office at 1pm and we will be out shortly after.

musical instruments

In Year 3, we have been learning about musical instruments. We were really inspired to learn more about music and the sounds that different instruments make after learning African drumming. Take a look at us having a go at making our own from recycled materials.
